Lead Pastor (Laverton)
Pastor Joe Lim (also known as Yew Meng) was a Military Pilot for nearly 25 years. He was born in Penang, Malaysia and worked in Singapore before moving to Australia in 1999. During those years, he has always been fervent and passionate for the Kingdom’s work. His transition was nicknamed ‘From Cockpit to Pulpit’.
After his military career, he was ordained as an Associate Pastor of Toowoomba City Church from 2005 – 2010. During that time, he was the pastor of the All Nations Service, a multi-cultural church that caters to the migrants and international students in Toowoomba. He also served as a Chaplain at the University of Southern Queensland.
His heart for the migrants led him to initiate ‘The Connecting Point’, a non-profit migrant support organisation which was supported of the local city council. This organisation has assisted many migrants coming into the city to work, live or study. It includes services like housing, schooling, transportation, employment, language and integration assistance.
His strength is in pioneering new work, leading worship and uncompromising preaching of the Word of God. In addition, he demonstrates strong leadership, and is passionate to train and develop the next generation rising up for the Kingdom.
He is married to his wife Elena, and has 2 boys. His whole family serves the Lord faithfully.
